The Mount Sinai Hospital Increases Interoperability Capabilities with Multi-ology Workflow Software

Toronto, ON – November 22, 2016 – RealTime Medical is pleased to announce the expansion of RealTime Medical’s DiaShare™ radiology workflow and productivity platform within the area of cardiology at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Currently in its sixth generation and designed to support multi-ology environments, DiaShare has been enhancing productivity and helping improve the quality of diagnosis from single hospital entities to healthcare enterprises, to country-wide deployments.

“We were looking for a way to bring information from our legacy cardiology system into the rest of our workflow,” said Dr. Mendelson, Vice-Chair of Radiology IT and Senior Associate Clinical Informatics at Mount Sinai and the co-chair for Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE). “Our positive experience with DiaShare in radiology has prompted us to expand the use of the platform into cardiology for the integration of our cardiology data into our imaging infrastructure. This platform expansion will allow us to leverage our existing technologies to improve our workflow in a cost-effective way.”

RealTime Medical Co-Founder and CEO, Ian Maynard, explains that one of the reasons Mount Sinai was originally interested in using DiaShare was because of its ability to unite disparate systems. “Since 2013, we have been working with Mount Sinai to eliminate manual workflow steps. Accomplishing a high degree of clinical productivity is most possible with a vendor-neutral platform that is also multi-ology applicable. We are pleased to help Mount Sinai achieve greater interoperability with a single solution that integrates data across multiple medical disciplines.”

In 2013, RealTime Medical successfully implemented DiaShare in a project for Mount Sinai to provide teleradiology services to several New York imaging clinics. The cardiology system expansion is planned to go live this summer.

The Mount Sinai Hospital is a recognized leader in healthcare IT. In 2012, Mount Sinai was awarded the HIMSS Enterprise Davies Award of Excellence for use of health information technology, which is a testament to the culture of health IT innovation that the institution has cultivated over the years.
